About the work: As many of you already know, my studio is situated in Saint-Henri. It was therefore the obvious start for my series of paintings of my city. I couldn’t paint this area without including this street corner, a Montreal icon. The emblematic Restaurant Greenspot, which opened in 1947 – a ‘spot’ in the St-Henri area. The original Greenspot was on the corner of Greene and Notre-Dame Ouest, and in 1989, moved across the street, yet still retained its authentic charm. Greenspot is a true neighborhood landmark
and so called because it’s at the corner of Greene and Notre-Dame so as the saying goes … “green marks the spot”
